This is the part most puzzle apps cannot match. A daily puzzle normally comes from a server, which is why it fails the moment you lose signal. GridJoy's daily is derived from the date — the app computes the same puzzle everyone else gets, from the day itself, without asking anyone.
So your streak keeps going on the plane. The puzzle is identical to the one a player on wifi is solving, because it was never fetched in the first place.

"Works offline" is worth nothing without the fine print, so here is all of it. Everything you do alone works with no signal; the things that involve other people need one.

Nothing is held back until you connect, and nothing expires while you are away. Sign-in is optional and only exists so your progress can follow you to another phone.
